Why the heat wave is good for the hormones

The summer is here and there is no doubt about it! Here in the United Kingdom, we have had a heat wave unlike any that we have seen for decades. The sun has been heating up the places for weeks now, so much so that the tarmac roads are starting to melt slightly and there have had to be driving warnings against this never heard before danger. Heat stroke has become a reality in some parts of the country, and even the trains are having trouble! The metal of the tracks are expanding to the point where they are warping, which is causing delays and cancelations. Everything in the UK is no longer working as well. The one thing that has improved in the heat is your libido!

The heat is good for the sex drive, and it increases your desire to have sex and get laid. The chances of having a hook up or finding a fuck buddy are on the rise just as the temperatures go up. So why is it that the heat makes you more likely to get laid? Well to answer this question, I’d like to break it down into several factors.

Everyone is wearing less

The fact that everyone is wearing less clothes makes a big difference. Simply having more skin on show across the board is making everyone turned on that little bit more than usual. It is not that there are suddenly more attractive people around, it is that they look more attractive. Someone in a short top is naturally more attractive than someone bundled up in trousers, a jumper and a woolly hat!

The decrease in melatonin levels

Science also has something to say about this. The decrease in melatonin levels from all the extra sunshine could also be helping you to have a hook up. Melatonin levels have been shown to inhibit sex hormones, so the lower our melatonin levels, the higher our sex drive can become. The higher everyones sex drive, the more than everyone wants to find a fuck buddy. I imagine that this time of year sees more people make the transition from “friend” to “friends with benefits” than at any other time of the year!

Serotonin

Sunlight has been shown to have a direct correlation with our serotonin levels, which directly affect how happy we are. The happier we are, the more in touch we are with our pleasure centres and our ability to express ourselves. We are also more attractive. Most people are more attractive when they are happy, because we all want to be part of that positivity.
